WORKING WITH OTHERS
The Foyer is a local supported housing project for homeless ages 16-25 where we go in on a Friday afternoon to deliver a drop-in youth club session for the resident young people. We have been doing this for a number of years now.
We provide an open and inviting atmosphere for the young people to join in with activities and conversation. The young people housed by Coventry Foyer come with differing needs and outlooks on life and they are all welcomed in to our sessions at the Coventry Foyer and our wider work.
Our sessions provide positive activities for the young people to engage in a safe space where their views and opinions are valued and respected. These sessions are a way for less confident residents to socialise and get to know others who live there without feeling stressed or pressured. Some of the young people who have attended sessions have gone on to participate in other outside activities with Bardsley House.
"I have always found the workers that come in to run the sessions from Bardsley to be approachable, friendly and professional. They get on well with our young people and they are always welcoming to new young people and make them feel comfortable when they do attend a session. They always share concerns should any safeguarding issues come up in the youth club." Feedback from one of housing support workers
