Did you know £5 can provide a warm meal for a young person in Coventry struggling this winter?
2 years ago we launched the city's first young person-only warm space. Young people are used to mixing with people their age through schools and colleges. Anxiety is common among young people. Add in the anxiety of struggling financially, or facing homelessness. Add in the anxiety associated with asking for help. Real accessible support for these issues must be offered to young people within their comfort zone. This means with people their age, and in a cosy relaxing environment. This was the idea behind our initial warm space offering.
This year, we hope to expand our offering to further meet the needs of our young people. Often when times are tough. the quality of what we eat is one of the first things to suffer. However, this has a negative knock-on impact on our physical and emotional health. It also has a knock-on impact on our ability to concentrate when learning or working among many other negative consequences. Therefore we hope to be able to provide young people who attend our warm space for support with prepared nutritious meals.
However, this comes at a cost. We are currently seeking donations from companies, organisations and individuals to help us make this a reality. Across the winter period we have calculated that we will need 600 meals each costing £5 each.

When you donate we shout about it! It's a great opportunity to get your name out there. Send information you want us to share alongside news of your donation to rachel@bardsleyyouth.org. This could be your Christmas booking process or details of how people can order festive gifts in time for Christmas. We actively share news of donations on Facebook, LinkedIn, our website, in our e-newsletter and sometimes even in press releases.
