Bardsley Youth Project, Coventry’s dedicated local youth homelessness charity, has released its latest Impact Report, highlighting a year of significant growth and positive change for young people aged 16–25 facing housing insecurity.

Over the past year, the charity supported 191 young people (a 47% increase on last year), delivering more than 4,000 hour of work. From emergency food and furniture provision to housing advice and advocacy, Bardsley’s holistic approach ensures young people are not only housed but equipped with the skills to thrive independently.

A few highlights from the year:

- 91% improved their housing situation

- 100% felt more confident about avoiding homelessness in the future

- 45% entered training or education, and nearly a third gained paid employment.

The report details how Bardsley adapted to meet a sharp rise in homeless young asylum seekers, while continuing to provide for other young people in the area.

The report is packed with inspiring case studies from young people like Katherine, who describes the charity as a lifeline during difficult times:

“I don’t always need support, but knowing they’re there when I do makes life feel less overwhelming.”

It also showcases the importance of local partnerships, such as the ongoing collaboration with Warwick Events:

“Working with the team at Bardsley has extended our knowledge of the challenges in our local community and made us so much better at creating and forging links between charity and business,” said Caroline from Warwick Events.Chief Executive Simon Ree added:“In just five years, we have seen nearly a fivefold increase in the number of young people we support. I am incredibly proud of our team and grateful to the partners who make this possible.”
