Real Stories of Youth Homelessness In Coventry: How Bardsley Youth Project Supported a Young Person to Turn Bare Accommodation Into a Home in Coventry

At Bardsley Youth Project in Coventry, we support young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. One of the ways we do this is by helping them turn empty accommodation into safe, liveable homes. When a young person moves into their first place, it's often completely unfurnished — no carpet, no furniture, just bare floors.

Over our next few blog posts, we want to share with you some real stories of youth homelessness in Coventry, and examples of how Bardsley Youth Project has provided support for these young individuals.

Recently, we helped a young woman apply for a grant from The Newfield Trust, which allowed her to carpet her new home and make it feel like her own.

The photos above show the bare flat when the young person first moved in — empty and without flooring.

The photos below show the same space after new carpets were fitted, transforming it into a more warm and welcoming home.

"literally obsessed with it, it feels so different and homely 😍😍thankyou so much Kim.
